"Legends Of Hip-Hop"
3 part film series

On February 27, 2026, Eric Floyd's Legends of Hip Hop concert united many of the architects of hip-hop for a historic celebration at the iconic Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Before a sold-out audience of more than 7,000 fans, legendary artists including Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh, Teddy Riley, and other pioneers of the genre delivered an unforgettable 4½-hour performance honoring the culture, artistry, and enduring legacy of hip-hop that has, in so many ways, changed the world.

Under the direction of Chico Bennett, an eight-camera production team documented the historic 4½-hour event, capturing every performance from multiple cinematic perspectives. Chico and his team captured every performance, audience moment, and behind-the-scenes interaction, transforming a landmark concert into an ambitious cinematic production.

The resulting project, tentatively titled Eric Floyd's Legends of Hip Hop: The Foundation, is a three-part documentary event that extends far beyond the stage. The series combines electrifying live performances with exclusive extended interviews featuring the legendary artists, intimate behind-the-scenes footage, conversations with concert attendees, and an in-depth interview with concert promoter Eric Floyd. Together, these elements create a compelling chronicle of the pioneers whose innovation gave birth to one of the world's most influential musical movements.

Currently in post-production, Eric Floyd's Legends of Hip Hop: The Foundation reflects Chico's commitment as a filmmaker, to producing a premium, culturally significant film that preserves defining moments in music history. The documentary series is anticipated to premiere on major streaming platforms in Spring 2027, bringing this extraordinary gathering of hip-hop legends to audiences worldwide.
